A Beautiful Day by Pastor Sam (Saturday, September 2, 2017)

Don’t you wish we could lock today’s weather in and hit “play” until maybe May 1, 2018?  I heard that.Relieved  Some  of you love the snow and ice.  I don’t remember the country-western singer —Ray Stevens?—but the lyrics ring true that say..”everything is beautiful in its own way..”  In Genesis, God declared….”it is good” at least six times in the Chapters 1 and 2, that I have counted…all in reference to His creation.  The Holy Spirit reminds us in Paul’s inspired writings that “nothing”–absolutely nothing  will be able to “separate us from the love of Christ!”(Romans 8:38-39)  The key point to remember is that one has to KNOW Christ and to be known BY Him.  That is the essence of salvation.  The Epistle of Jesus’ half brother James says: “You believe that there is one God.  You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!”  Read the passage in context, James 2:14 – 24.  We ARE as Paul taught in Ephesians 2:8-9, “Saved by grace through faith.”  But we must not leave off Ephesians 2:10; “For we are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”  Bible faith, saving faith is NEVER in all the Bible depicted as passive!  True saving faith ALWAYS produces fruit!  The fruit of the Spirit is the growing very life of Jesus in a human being reflected by Apostle Paul’s writing in Galatians 5:22-23; “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, . Against such there is no law.”  Finally, the constant theme THROUGHOUT Jesus’ preparing of His disciples before, during and AFTER His resurrection was that the “fields are white unto harvest,” and that following Him meant becoming “fishers of men.”  it meant and means living out our faith daily by being “fishers of men,” fulfilling the “great commission”  —in other words, relentlessly seeking to win the lost of the world!  Talk is cheap!  We need to ask ourselves, “Are we walking the walk with our Master?
