Here is some ministerial musing, printed rabbit chasing. Up front, I will apologize for not giving chapter and verse, but invite you to look my thought up in Scripture, should you choose.  And I welcome you to e-mail me with questions or rebuttal at

For well over fifty years I have pondered the Words of God which state that Jesus “thought it not robbery to be equal with God.”  The identity of the Savior of the world has been a topic of wide conjecture, debate and even angry dogmatic proclamation.  Who IS Jesus?  Or in the minds of the majority of the world today, who WAS He?  Even some believers live with Him in the past tense. Paul claimed to KNOW Jesus, not just “knowing of” Him.  In fact, Paul yearned to know Jesus better and better. My friend, and great evangelist Joe Veal said during a recent revival sermon at Emmanuel, “If Jesus is NOT in Heaven, I don’t want to go there! I want to be where Jesus is.”

You have your own opinion about who Jesus is or was.  So, back to my lifelong interest in the claim of Jesus identity with the Father.  Here’s my practical take…for me at least: True believers are likewise intended to not think it robbery to be equal with the God-man, Jesus.  We should, perhaps, have an identity crisis. I am not speaking of a Messianic complex. I have dealt with my own, and finally came to see that not only cannot I not redeem others, I can’t even redeem myself!  On the other hand, God never hides His desire to form Christ in every human!  He has no pleasure in the death of the wicked.  Paul would add, “Christ in me, the hope of glory.”  And, God has put this treasure of Christ’s life, in “an earthen vessel, that the glory be of God” and NOT of us!  Jesus, the prototype human, the “second Adam” means to pull us up to Himself! I vote for that.  He is the Author AND Finisher of our Faith! Heaven will be Heaven, in large part, because it will be populated with humans JUST LIKE JESUS!  Be blessed as much as you are able!
